Learning to like yourself takes time

I wanted to send you a little update to let you know how I’ve been doing lately. The last few weeks have had their fair share of challenges, but I have to say I’ve aced every single one of them with flying colours so far. This has actually included some fairly major obstacles, like having to get my entire medical history for court proceedings and ridding myself of some people who were only harming me in the long term.

I had the realisation a few weeks ago that I actually do like who I am now, and I deserve to be happy, although it’s okay if that process inevitably takes time.

Not to say that this is easy an easy process, there have been a fair few tears on occasion, but I don’t feel the need to be jealous or validated by others in order to find my own happiness and self worth anymore. I also found out this morning that I got the John Smith internship!

I actually do like who I am now, and I deserve to be happy, although it’s okay if that process inevitably takes time.

Thank you so much for all of your help over the last year, I really can’t express how much it has meant and what an impact you’ve had on my life. I know for a fact that I wouldn’t be as far along the recovery journey as I am today without your support.
