Putting lived experience at the heart of our new brand

Penumbra Mental Health has today unveiled its new brand campaign through a series of powerful films featuring people who share their lived experience journeys.

The charity is the largest employer of mental health peer workers in Scotland with 20% of its teams in peer support roles and aims to increase that to 30% by 2023.

Chief Executive Mike Burns said:

“It’s an exciting day for all of us here at Penumbra Mental Health. This big piece of work has been inspired and shaped by lived experience, and the meaningful engagement with our teams and people who have accessed our support. Our pioneering charity provides dedicated services for people with mild to serious and enduring mental ill health. From being there for people in crisis to suicide prevention, supported living to self-harm management and peer support, we are with those we support every step of their journey to a better place. And so at the heart of our new brand is our Penumbra infinity loop. It represents a simple message that everyone’s journey is different, and that we’ll always be there for those who need our support.

We are Penumbra Mental Health, a pioneering charity supporting people on their journey to better mental health. The power of people’s lived experience enables us to provide pioneering services that transform lives.

“To mark this big moment in our history, we’re celebrating our new tagline: Your journey. Your way. This is our way of recognising that people’s experiences are at the centre of everything we do, because everyone’s journey is different. That means we work with people to identify, believe in, and reach their goals, whatever they may be.”
